Owl birthday bag

This bag is for another challenge at the Splitcoast Creative Crew.
CCREW0611DF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM - DSP/Color Focus:
*Sunny Garden*
June, a time for iced tea, gardens bursting, and riots of color. This month we're going bright (which is a true challenge for me) Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, Peach Parfait.

Of course everyone on the crew is American and not experiencing a cold Tassie winter at this moment. Ha :)

I have never put these colours together before or used any of them very much.  They really were a challenge for me, but I’m happy with how it turned out .

I had only just given in to the lure of the owl punch and so I decided to try it out and make a cute “bright” owl.

I also did some paper piecing.  I stamped and cut out the little bag from the Birthday Bakery set, and also used real tissue paper at the top and linen thread for the handle.
I added wings to the owl by using the scallop oval punch so that he could hold the bag.

Then I made a very simple little bag using card covered with the same dsp.
I tried to make the big bag the same as the little bag the owl is carrying.

Here is a close up of the owl.
